Professional, Caring and Diplomatic
We approached Focus Referrals in November 2022 for a second opinion when we had been told by another Veterinary eye specialist that our 10 year old Wheaten Terrier had lost his sight as a result of high blood pressure causing detached retinas and that he would now be permanently blind.
Mike was extremely professional, caring and diplomatic in his approach. He very quickly offered an alternative diagnosis and whilst cautious in his initial prognosis he devised a treatment plan which, after approx 10 days resulted in Dylan regaining some sight. Our dogs vision has continued to improve, under Mike's meticulous care to the point that he now has sight in both eyes, not perfect, but Dylan is now able to lead a very normal life and is a much happier dog altogether.
We are so pleased that we sought a second opinion, had we not met Mike Rhodes and the team at Focus referrals our dog would have been blind for the rest of his life.
Can't thank Mike and his team enough, they have made all the difference.

Veterinary professional with a very tricky dog review! Winnie's operation with Focus was the first time I have ever had to hand her over to another team and I was so worried about letting her go - partly because she's not the easiest but also because I've always been able to stay with her. Mike and the team were FANTASTIC (with both me and her) from consult, through to post-op. Clinically, professionally, and personally outstanding in every way, I only wish I could take her there for everything, not just her eyes! Cannot recommend highly enough.

We cannot thank Mike and his team at Focus Referrals enough for giving our precious Scotty Blossom her sight back. She has gone from a sad little lady. back to the feisty little dog she used to be 😊 We were initially worried about having Blossom operated on due to her age and her having diabetes, but Mike and his team put us at ease and made the whole process as painless for us as I am sure it was for her. Also, a big thank you to Ginetta who was most helpful when I had any queries. We would not hesitate in recommending Focus Referrals.

My experience has been wonderful
I would like to give some very positive feedback about my experience with Mike, and the team, at Focus Referrals.
My experience has been wonderful. My cat, Dudley, had an really badly infected eye a couple of weeks ago and was at risk of losing it. But, I was able to see Mike in an out of hours appointment where he put my mind at rest and explained the situation very clearly and prescribed treatment.
Two weeks on and the infection has gone, Dudley still has a way to go before he is fully healed. But, I cannot recommend the professional service and care of this practice highly enough.
