Overnight care

Focus Referrals is fully staffed during regular business hours and have a dedicated team providing care for all our hospitalised patients. After regular business hours, we do not have staff constantly on site. We recommend that all patients requiring intensive overnight care return to their referring practices where 24 hour care can be provided.

Patients who do not require intensive monitoring and care may stay overnight with Focus Referrals. In this situation a member of our nursing team will return to check our patients and in the case of dogs, take them out for a comfort break. A vet would be called to see the patient if the nurse felt they needed further care.

In general, we prefer that non-critical medical or post-surgery patients be sent home and monitored by their owners. Many pets recover better in their familiar home environment.
